Madrid Nightlife Guide
Madrid has one of the world's most extraordinary nightlife cultures — a city where dinner rarely begins before 10pm and where the night can genuinely continue until 8am the following morning without anyone finding this unusual. Malasaña and Chueca are the primary nightlife neighbourhoods, each with distinct characters — Malasaña for indie, alternative, and creative bars; Chueca for the LGBTQ+ scene and sophisticated cocktail bars. La Latina is the ideal aperitivo and tapas neighbourhood, packed from 8pm onwards with the city's most atmospheric bars and tabernas. The Huertas district between the Prado and Gran Vía has the highest concentration of live music venues, while the electronic club scene clusters around the Arganzuela and Lavapiés neighbourhoods.
